Non Surgical Facial Aesthetics

With any treatment, it is the initial consultation stage that is the key to a successful outcome. We believe that you need to feel that you have been given enough information to make an informed choice and that it is then your decision as to how you would like your treatment to proceed.

We find that photographs are an invaluable tool during the treatment process as they not only help you to decide which areas you feel you would like treating, they also help with future visits when being able to see the difference that past treatment has already made!

You can either have a consultation separately, or as part of the treatment appointment if you feel confident that you will definitely want to go ahead.

 Dermal Fillers

Natural Rehydration

Dermal fillers use a naturally occurring hydrating agent called hyaluronic acid. It is a powerful moisturising agent and widely distributed in the skin. They are used to replace lost skin volume and smooth out unwanted folds and wrinkles. They are especially suitable for pronounced smile lines and lip plumpness.Every care is taken to provide precisely the right amount for a natural look rather than overfilling

The method is simple and involves careful placement of the product under the skin in the area required. Typically topical anaesthetic is used. The result is immediate and effects typically last up to 12 months. The results and effect will improve with repeated treatment. There is also virtually no risk of allergic reaction which some of the more permanent fillers can cause.

Dermal fillers provide natural results helping you to look younger for longer whilst respecting your original features and expressions.

The priority is to only offer treatments with a high safety profile.  All the dermal filler products used have undergone years of rigorous independent research and are proven to be safe and effective.  The products do not contain any animal derivatives.

Dermal fillers are generally used in the lower half of the face:

Naso-labial folds - these are the lines caused by smiling that run from the corner of the nose to the outer corner of the lips.

Lips - to give a fuller more well defined lip.

Puppet lines - the lines that run downwards from the outer corner of the lip.

Frown lines - sometimes used alongside the injectable wrinkle treatments to fill in deeper frown lines.

It can also be used for other dips and folds as required.

We will ask you for an idea in which area you would like the dermal fillers placed.  There are a wide range of products, even within different the brands which are produced for use in different areas, so it will help us to ensure that we provide the right product for you.

 What our patients have said:

"I looked 10 years younger immediately!! It really helped me to regain my confidence and I felt amazing. I hardly felt a thing, well worth every penny.”

“I had dermal filler in my smile lines a week ago, and am very happy with the results. No noticeable redness or swelling with minimal discomfort. I look a lot better but it's not obvious why! I went to Tara who was recommended by a friend who'd had fillers and looks great. I hope it lasts a long time, but I won't hesitate to return for regular top-ups.”

Injectable Anti-Wrinkle Treatments  (Also known as Botox©)

Injectable anti-wrinkle treatments are the most popular cosmetic medical treatment for facial lines and wrinkles in the UK.

Treatment is a simple procedure that smoothes persistent lines.  It acts by relaxing the muscles under the skin responsible for the lines.  As the muscles cannot contract after treatment, it means that this type of treatment is also preventative as well as restorative.

Usually we talk about treating 3 areas:

Worry lines - these are the horizontal lines that run across the forehead.

Crow’s Feet - a not very nice description of the laughter lines we develop at the outer corners of our eyes when we laugh or smile.

botox02

Glabellar lines - these are also known as elevens or frown lines. They are the vertical lines between the eyebrows.

botox03

How Long Does It Last?
It usually lasts 3-6 months. If it is the very first treatment or you have not had a treatment for some time however, it may only last for 2 months.

The product we use is called Azzalure Botulinum Toxin Type A.

About Azzalure
Azzalure® is a purified protein which is injected into specific muscles in the face to temporarily relax them, softening facial expressions and helping to reverse the signs of ageing.

Azzulure® is now licensed to treat frown lines, but must be prescribed after consultation with a qualified health-care professional such as a doctor, nurse prescriber, dentist or podiatrist.

Seeing the benefits
Azzalure® normally takes an average of 2 to 3 days to start working, although it may take a little longer for the full effects to be seen, sometimes up to 10 days. The speed of action will depend on the strength of your facial muscles and your individual response to the injection.

What about side effects?
Like all medicines, Azzalure® can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them, any reactions are generally minimal, temporary, and typically relate to the injection itself.

There may be slight discomfort as the needle enters the skin, although we do use EMLA™ topical anaesthetic cream when required. There is also the possibility of bruising or bleeding at the injection site.

Very rarely, botulinum toxin may result in muscle weakness away from the site of injection. If you experience any discomfort you should consult your practitioner or GP.

Other potential side effects are listed in the Azzulure® Patient information leaflet, which will be given to you at the time of your consultation.

What our patients have said:

“After my first treatment I was blown away by the difference it made. My worry lines had just disappeared! I've gone back for touch ups since then, and every time I am just so impressed with the professionalism of the staff and the way they take time to make sure you know what to expect. Most of all I'm pleased with the results! I know it's a cliche, but it really did take years off my face."

"I am so glad I did it, and at first my friends couldn't figure out what was different, they just said that I looked really well-rested. My favourite part was how natural I looked. I was afraid of looking like I had "had work done", and that was definitely not the case. I would recommend anti-wrinkle injections to anyone who wants to look younger.”

“When I turned 45, I started to notice things about my face that I didn't like. Now, at 52, I'm happy with what I see in the mirror."

"These simple, subtle and non-invasive treatments made my skin look more radiant rather than thin and tired as it was before.  Best of all, no one noticed that I'd had anything done - they just thought that I looked better. I am really happy these treatments are available and that I can keep looking my best, and feeling fabulous when I look in the mirror.”

On the day of the procedure:

 1. We will ask you to take your make up off.

 2. We will wipe your face with an antiseptic wipe.

3. We will usually use a numbing cream. This will be placed on the skin of the area to be treated. (If treating around the lip area, we can offer a dental injection into the gum to numb the area. A topical anaesthetic is appled to the gum beforehand).
